Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring pediatric and Level II trauma experience with call coverage.

Details

• Inpatient PACU setting including Phase I and Pedi PACU within a Level III Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule, Monday to Friday, either 8:00am-4:30pm or 9:00am-5:30pm
• Call required
• Assists with coverage in Pre-Op as needed
• Recovers patients from ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and pediatric ENT surgeries (T&A, BMT, etc)
• Monitors patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and A-lines
• 1:2 patient ratio

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required, covering all surgeries except cardiac
• Pediatric PACU experience required
• Critical care experience strongly preferred
• Level II trauma center experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though strong first-time travelers may be considered

Additional Information

• Recover post-surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including ortho, neuro, general, urology, GYN, dental, and pediatric ENT
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and nerve block monitoring
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• RTO must be submitted with consideration for the role
• Some holiday coverage expected
• Onsite drug screen required upon arrival, including marijuana panel; positive results result in automatic cancellation
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
