Description
American Traveler is hiring a Surgical Oncology RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring oncology experience and TX or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Surgical Oncology unit with 21 beds and current census of 8-12 patients
- Staffing includes charge RN, 3-4 staff RNs, and 1 PCT per shift
- Patient ratio of 1:3-4, flexing to 1:5
- Uses Baxter infusion pumps
- EMR is Meditech
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend requirement with no on-call obligations
- Floating required to Hemeonc and bone marrow transplant units
Requirements
- Active RN license, TX or compact required
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent Oncology experience required
- Oncology chemotherapy certification (ONC) required for all Oncology RNs
- Hemonc background and chemo certification preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Care duties include replacing blood and electrolytes and managing neutropenic precautions
- Unit follows strict intake and output monitoring protocols
- CHG bath and linen changes required every 24 hours
- Dressing changes required every 7 days
- Line and cap changes required every 96 hours
- No children under 16 permitted on the unit
- Scrub color required is royal blue
- Compassionate personality fit is emphasized for this role
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
