Description
American Traveler is hiring a PCU Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of PCU experience and current ACLS/BLS certification.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a Short Term Acute Care, Level III Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Floating between units required
- Every other weekend required
- Block schedule required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting completed in Epic
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of PCU/Telemetry nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, central and PICC line management, chest tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, PCA, and cardiac drip titration preferred
- Experience with seizure disorders and substance withdrawal patient populations preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced PCU/Stepdown environment, managing cardiac, respiratory, and neurological cases
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
- Scrubs of any color permitted; surgical attire provided for surgical services
- No parking fees at the facility
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this block assignment
- Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate; radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
