Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Non-trauma Emergency Department in a community hospital setting
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience caring for ventilated respiratory patients
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors preferred
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Orthopedic and neurological patient care experience
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for patients in STEMI and stroke certified facility settings
• Pediatric, head injury, near drowning, ortho trauma, and spinal cord injury case experience preferred
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Not eligible for consideration if residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be listed at time of consideration
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
