Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring WA licensure and hands-on management of high-risk obstetric conditions.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- 3x12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15
- Facility averages over 300 births per month
- Floating to Post-Partum unit required based on patient care needs
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2-3 years of L&D experience in a unit with comparable volume and acuity required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
- Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
- Experience with Magnesium Sulfate drips required
- Experience circulating and recovering C-Section patients required
- Experience managing high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage/shock, and VBAC/trial of labor required
- Experience with EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) and IUPC placement/calibration required
- Prior travel experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Manage high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and multiple gestations
- Assist with newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
- Support breastfeeding/lactation and baby-friendly postpartum protocols
- Required orientation modules completed and signed off by facility managers
- RTO limited to 5 days or less per assignment and must be disclosed prior to consideration
- No block scheduling; flexibility with scheduling required
- Local travelers accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
- Travel pairs accepted
- Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
