Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and Cerner proficiency on night shift.

Details

• MS/Tele unit setting with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity level

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
• 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience within the last 7 years required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skills required in cardiac monitoring, genitourinary/renal care, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to medical/surgical and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travelers
