Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 1 year of experience and MI licensure.

Details

• 46-bed surgical unit (4N) with a Med/Surg Tele patient population
• Primary patient population includes trauma surgery, post-bariatric, post-abdominal, post-amputation, and urological surgery patients, with medical and cardiac overflow
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, occasionally up to 1:7 during call-ins
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:5-7

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse surgical and medical patient population
• New travelers are being onboarded regularly to help manage unit workload
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted per assignment
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Required to complete facility orientation modules within the first week of the assignment
• Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards, and unprofessional behavior or attendance issues may result in contract termination
