Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:15-7:15)
- Every other weekend requirement
- On call/call off based on census
- Epic charting system used and required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (hard stop)
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management preferred
- Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and hemodialysis
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- All compliance documentation due 10 days prior to start
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
- Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered if all requirements are met
