Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

  • Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:15-7:15)
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • On call/call off based on census
  • Epic charting system used and required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • BSN required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (hard stop)
  • 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management preferred
  • Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade
  • Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred
  • Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and hemodialysis

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
  • Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
  • All compliance documentation due 10 days prior to start
  • 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
  • Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
  • Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
  • Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
  • Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
  • First-time travelers may be considered if all requirements are met
