Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift Med Neuro ICU position requiring critical care experience and PALS certification.
Details
- Med Neuro ICU setting
- Night shift (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Floating to intermediate step-down/medical floors required
- Unit occasionally serves as peds overflow, though pediatric patients typically remain on the Peds unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2-3 years of critical care experience required
- Additional med/surg experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory suctioning
- Experience managing continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and post neurosurgery care preferred
- Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and traumatic brain injury care preferred
- Experience with chest tube insertion/removal assistance preferred
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to a medically and neurologically complex ICU patient population
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and cardiac dysrhythmias
- Unit cannot accommodate more than 7 days of requested time off
- Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for travel assignments
- Former FirstHealth employees must have been separated from employment for at least one year to be considered
- Facility conducts its own pre-employment drug screening upon arrival in addition to standard credentialing requirements
