Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a day shift assignment in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, requiring RRT registration and at least 5 years of experience.
Details
- Provides therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Cares for adult, pediatric, and newborn patient populations
- Performs pulmonary function studies and administers related testing
- Assists with orientation and training of new clinical staff on respiratory therapy modalities and equipment
- 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM with rotating weekends
- Includes 2 on-call shifts per week
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for Respiratory Care
- Minimum 5 years of newborn/NICU experience
- Minimum 3 years of acute respiratory care experience including general floor care, emergent medical and trauma stabilization, and newborn stabilization
- Cardiopulmonary diagnostics and pulmonary/cardiac rehabilitation experience preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
- Active Colorado respiratory care license required if applicable
- Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC)
Additional Information
- Administers care under the direction of ordering physicians and supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director
- Participates in community education and outreach initiatives
- Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) background check required
- Reliable personal transportation required due to lack of public transit in the rural Gunnison area
