Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2+ years of PCU/critical care experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

• PCU role within a Critical Care/MST Flex Pool at a short-term acute care, Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to MS Tele units (Humphrey, 3 North, 3 West, Kendrick, 2 East) and the Cardiac Monitoring Room
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Hospital has a dedicated Vascular Access Team (VAT) to assist with difficult IVs

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required (pending accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, 3 years preferred
• Experience managing cardiac drips (excluding vasopressors) required
• Experience with management and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
• Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry strips
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and dysrhythmia management on the unit
• Must be comfortable floating without restrictions to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals based on census needs
• Scrubs of any color are permitted
• Free parking available on-site
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• RTO requests require unit manager approval, with no RTO permitted during the first week due to orientation
• Local candidates accepted
