Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2+ years of PCU/critical care experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.
Details
- PCU role within a Critical Care/MST Flex Pool at a short-term acute care, Level I trauma teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
- Patient ratios of 3-4:1
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to MS Tele units (Humphrey, 3 North, 3 West, Kendrick, 2 East) and the Cardiac Monitoring Room
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Hospital has a dedicated Vascular Access Team (VAT) to assist with difficult IVs
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required (pending accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, 3 years preferred
- Experience managing cardiac drips (excluding vasopressors) required
- Experience with management and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
- Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry strips
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Responsible for cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and dysrhythmia management on the unit
- Must be comfortable floating without restrictions to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals based on census needs
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- Free parking available on-site
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- RTO requests require unit manager approval, with no RTO permitted during the first week due to orientation
- Local candidates accepted
