Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2 years of experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• General medical and surgical unit in a short term acute care hospital with 110 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to Progress West and other units such as surgical and telemetry
• Uses Epic charting system
• Navy scrub color required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred, required by compliance deadline if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring preferred
• Skilled in non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Feeding tube care and management experience preferred
• Must be able to accommodate fit testing requirements, including facial hair restrictions

Additional Information

• Provide general medical and surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Some initial orientation may occur on weekdays due to limited weekend class availability
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a travel RN
