Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an IN or compact RN license and 18 months of PICU experience.
Details
- PICU setting within a children's hospital
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Holiday coverage required (must work 2 out of 3 major holidays)
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers
- Cerner charting system required
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of PICU experience required
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with care of ventilated patients and respiratory management
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Knowledge of infection control/PPE and isolation precautions
- Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations and medication/emergency medication administration
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Any prior perm or PRN employee of the health system must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler
- RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
