Description
American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a pediatric hospital setting requiring at least 18 months of PICU experience and an IN or compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a children's hospital
- Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM), with 3x12 or 4x12 options
- Holiday coverage required, working 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Cerner charting system used
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of PICU experience required
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, PICC line management, and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, infection control/PPE, isolation precautions, and pediatric dosage calculations required
- Nursing degree must be from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers with 12 months of accrued IU Health travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility
