Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry Float position requiring an active MA RN license and prior acute care and telemetry experience.

Details

  • Float position within the Telemetry unit
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • 36 hours per week with every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required, including a major holiday
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days of the week
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum of 18 months acute care experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience required
  • BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skills required in respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and medication administration including PCA
  • Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
  • Two references required for consideration, at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry nursing care as part of a float pool team
  • Must pass a telemetry exam (80% passing score) and a medication exam during orientation, each with only one attempt allowed
  • Failure to pass either exam will result in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials provided during compliance process and prior to start
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Must reside within 200 miles of the facility
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
