Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 3 years of specialty experience, Epic, and prior travel experience.
Details
- Operating Room unit with 10 OR rooms and average daily census of 20-25
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Call requirement of once per week and one weekend per month
- No call-in flexibility
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Louisiana or Compact) required in hand upon submittal
- BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and CNOR preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Current NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)
Additional Information
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve on a relief team
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Orientation held 5 days a week
- Two Manager/Supervisor references (not Charge RNs) required prior to start, though not required for initial submission
- Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for 1 full year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible (measured from driver's license address)
- RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
