Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a cardiac cath lab position requiring RCIS, ARRT, or RTR certification and 2+ years of experience.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab within a community hospital setting
- 1:1 patient ratio
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- On-call required one day per week and one weekend per month
- Weekend coverage required every third weekend
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions
Requirements
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- RCIS, ARRT, or RTR certification required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; candidates with RTR only (no RCIS) need 3 years of experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years of strong Cath Lab experience
Additional Information
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, TAVR, Watchman, ASD closures, cardiac stent placement, IABP and Impella insertion, and pacemaker implantation
- Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, room circulating, and maintaining a sterile field while scrubbing
- Requires knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE use, and rapid response/code team protocols
- Locals under 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified
- Returning staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system before returning to the same facility or unit
