Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Neuro-Stroke role requiring KY or compact RN licensure and prior acute inpatient PCU experience.

Details

Neuro-Stroke ASC unit with 38 beds organized in pods
Patient-to-nurse ratio of 3-5:1, maximum 5:1
Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, every other weekend required
Utilizes Epic EMR system
Free charge nurse with pod layout, RN does not read telemetry
Treats stroke and spine surgery patients
Administers heparin as primary medication
Performs IVs, blood draws, PCA management, trach care, and central line care

Requirements

Active KY or compact RN license required
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
Acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and patients' families to support care needs
Provide patient and family education related to treatment and discharge planning
Mentor and precept staff while fostering teamwork and leadership
