Description
American Traveler is seeking a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift assignment requiring SC or compact RN license and 2 years of stepdown experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) setting within a 12-bed unit
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 7p-7a
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to sister units/facilities, with agency staff floated first
- Epic EMR used, experience preferred
- Holiday rotation required
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of stepdown or ICU experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide stepdown-level nursing care to telemetry and progressive care patients
- Skills such as IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, and cardiac monitoring are utilized
- Experience with neuro, respiratory, cardiovascular, and renal patient populations is beneficial
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Free parking provided on-site
- During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for consideration
