Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift float pool position requiring 2 years of Peds ICU experience and a South Carolina or Compact RN license.
Details
- Pediatric Critical Care float pool position within a children's hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36 hours/week
- Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
- Required to work every other weekend and rotate holidays
- Float required within scope to all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval based on unit needs
Requirements
- Active SC or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certification (AHA only accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
- Proficiency in pediatric dosage calculations, IV vasopressors, and continuous sedation management
- Skilled in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management
- Experience with central line, PICC line, and ICP monitoring care
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients including medication administration, respiratory support, and neurologic monitoring
- Must reside within 60 miles of the facility for local candidate consideration; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for approval based on unit needs
- First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the required experience
- Local candidates are considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September)
