Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D and post-partum experience and a CA RN license.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds
- Night shift, 3x12 schedule from 19:00-7:00, with 4x12 available upon request
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- 36-hour orientation provided
- Float required between like units and sister facilities
- Uses Epic charting system
- Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license accepted, must be in hand at time of submission)
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
- Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required (3 years preferred)
- Labor and post-partum experience is a hard requirement
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in high-risk delivery, C-section circulation, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care
- Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other L&D medications
- Proficient in newborn care, including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Manage high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage, and obstetric emergencies
- Support breastfeeding and lactation for postpartum patients
- Perform fetal monitoring, including internal and external methods
- Scrub color requirement: royal blue or navy blue (L&D scrubs provided)
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted only at a lower bill rate
- Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
