Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and travel nursing background.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15
- Facility handles 100-300 births per month
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Cerner charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, high risk delivery, C-section circulation, and vaginal delivery assistance
- Experienced in fetal monitoring including external and internal EFM, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Competent in postpartum care including cesarean section, hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Skilled in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries including forceps/vacuum extraction
- Manage newborn care immediately following delivery including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Support antepartum procedures such as NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exams
- Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Local candidates within the radius are not accepted
