Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift (7P-7A) position requiring an active MI RN license and prior medical/surgical experience.

Details

• 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level 2 trauma designation
• Located on the 6th floor Acute Medical/Surgical unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population, ages 18-125
• Patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
• Uses telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
• Cerner EHR system used for charting
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend requirement, every other weekend
• Occasional floating required to similar units

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Bachelor's degree required, BSN preferred
• Prior medical/surgical unit experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Documentation required for consideration: Social Security number, date of birth, active license verification via Nursys, and copies of required certifications

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical/surgical unit with a diverse adult and geriatric population
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Scrub color is Galaxy Blue or Navy
• Fingernails must be clean and appropriately trimmed in compliance with hand hygiene policy
• Tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered, and excessive jewelry is not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
