Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring TNCC certification and Alaska RN licensure.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shift, 3x12 hours (15:00-03:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Guaranteed hours up to 40 per week
• Cerner charting system used, Epic experience preferred

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required prior to start; compact license accepted at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (TNCC is a hard requirement)
• AVADE and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac emergencies
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of critical medications
• Experience with isolation precautions, PPE, and triage
• Cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a medically and socially complex patient population, including cases involving domestic violence and social history factors
• Located within a 152-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Navy scrubs required (L&D/OR scrubs provided by facility)
• Free parking available near the facility
• Maximum RTO of one week, with missed time to be made up at the end of the assignment
• Must be available to work up to 3 of 4 major holidays per facility holiday schedule
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
• Previous employees must have a 2-year gap before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination acknowledgment required prior to submission
