Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 1.5 years of ICU experience and a NJ or compact RN license.

• Work in the ICU department of a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Epic charting system used, experience preferred
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line and central line care/management, and continuous IV sedation
• Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Respiratory/thoracic skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex medical needs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
