Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a day shift role at a 205-bed trauma center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.

Details

• 205-bed hospital with trauma center designation and 20-bed ICU
• Services Medical, Surgical, Rehab, Progressive Care Unit, ICU, and limited pediatrics
• 4-6 RTs on staff each shift
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in adult and pediatric airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience with aerosol therapy, nebulizers, and MDI delivery systems
• Proficient in BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilator weaning
• ABG interpretation and basic EKG skills required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across medical, surgical, rehab, progressive care, ICU, and limited pediatric units
• Perform airway management procedures including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Manage ventilator settings and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
• Administer aerosol and nebulizer treatments as needed
• Olive green scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO auto-approved, and no RTO during first week of orientation
