Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step-Down/PCU night shift position requiring telemetry and cardiac drip management skills.
Details
- Dual unit setting covering both PCU/Stepdown and general floor sides
- PCU ratios of 2-3 patients per nurse, floor ratios typically 4, occasionally 5
- All nurses work across both sides of the unit
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips required
- Chest tube management experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Works in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during first week of orientation
- Local candidates not accepted
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- Standard travelers may stay for an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break after reaching that limit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
