Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring recent Critical Care/ICU or ED experience and a KS or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30), 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Floating required to ICU and all inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED based on prior experience
• Current EMR is Epic

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and self-performed lab draws required
• Comfortable performing consults and codes independently without a vascular access team
• Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires preferred

• Orientation includes multiple days at both KUKC and Olathe campuses, including Director of Nursing training and virtual Epic training
• Local and travel candidates accepted at the same bill rate
