Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring IL RN licensure and Level 1 Trauma experience.
Details
- Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)
- Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to similar units
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Level 1 Trauma center experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in vital sign interpretation, medication administration, fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and patient ambulation safety
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including assessments, care planning, medication administration, and patient education
- Receive bedside shift report and delegate tasks to healthcare care technicians as needed
- Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation protocols
- Support timely admission/discharge processes for observation status patients
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused unit culture
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify; no local candidates accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Travelers who have worked at this health system within the past 6 months are not eligible for rehire
- Travel agency partners are not accepted for this position
