Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration skills and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- PCU/Stepdown unit within a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- 3x12-hour Day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Patient ratios of 1:3-4
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers are first to float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed
- May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Cardiac drip titration and management experience is a hardstop requirement
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skills needed include respiratory care, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia interpretation
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations
- Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway support
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as part of daily responsibilities
- Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
- Scrubs may be any color for RNs
- No parking fees at this facility
- Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), though Thanksgiving or Christmas may be chosen exclusively
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer changes may not be accommodated
- Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at a lower bill rate
- Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required
