Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration skills and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU/Stepdown unit within a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• 3x12-hour Day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Travelers are first to float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience is a hardstop requirement
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skills needed include respiratory care, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia interpretation

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway support
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as part of daily responsibilities
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
• Scrubs may be any color for RNs
• No parking fees at this facility
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), though Thanksgiving or Christmas may be chosen exclusively
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer changes may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at a lower bill rate
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required
