Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience across cardiac, neuro, and general critical care.
Details
- Critical Care Float pool covering Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU/Bone Marrow Transplant-Oncology ICU, and a mutually agreed Med-Surg unit
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- Weekend work required
- Floating within the hospital required; floating to sister hospitals not required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including cardiac, neuro, and general ICU skills
- EPIC charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills required include ventilator management, ABG interpretation, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and IV therapy
- Experience with EVD and ICP monitoring preferred
- Experience with post-cardiac surgery and TAVR care preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across multiple ICU specialties within the Critical Care Float pool
- RTO limited to 1 week maximum, with a requirement to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- RTO cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage radius restriction
- Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travImageer
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Any scrub color accepted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
