Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night-shift Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit role requiring ventilator management experience and PALS certification.
Details
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMC) providing intermediate-level care for medical/surgical patients aged 0-18
- Patient population includes non-ICU neurosurgical, video EEG/spectrum scan, peritoneal dialysis, chronic trach/ventilated, select hyperbilirubinemia, select cardiac surgery, and complex post-op patients (orthopedic spine, crani, bladder augmentation)
- Uses Epic charting system
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
- Willingness to charge on some shifts if needed
Requirements
- Active RN license, OR license required for submission
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required, 2+ years overall experience required
- Ventilator management experience required
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
- Neurologic and ICP monitoring skills, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management experience required
- EVD or peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required, charge RN references not accepted
- Comprehensive work history covering the last seven years including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO required
- Relias exam score of 85% or higher required
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to pediatric patients and families in an intermediate care setting
- Care delivery aligned with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and ANA Code of Ethics
- Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
- Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must be gone at least 6 months before returning and must provide a reference from their previous OHSU manager
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on position details
- Candidates should indicate interest in contracts longer than the 13-week minimum or preference for 36 vs 48 hours per week
