Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital Emergency Department, combined Adult/Pediatric
- 1:4 patient ratios
- Evening shift, 3x12 hour shifts (14:00-02:30)
- Every other weekend required, 6-8 shifts per contract
- No on-call requirements
- May float to Pediatrics with support available, as well as to a sister facility in San Pedro
- Epic EMR used
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (EDAP/ENPC and TNCC preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- May be required to float to other units or sister facilities as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application, with minimal flexibility post-offer
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- Free parking available
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced bill rate
