Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced Inpatient Observation Unit position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center setting.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit located near the Emergency Department
• Fast-paced environment with medical beds, trauma overflow beds, and mid-hold patients
• Care for patients with lower to higher acuity levels and changing patient needs
• May be required to float to other areas of competency
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is generally not approved

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within an acute care setting
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospitals required
• Proven background managing critical, fast-paced, and complex trauma cases
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Holiday coverage is an expectation for this position
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
