Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night shift travel contract requiring PALS certification and NC or Compact licensure.
Details
- Pediatric MedSurg unit setting
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
- 13-week contract assignment
- Required to work every other weekend
- Orientation held bi-weekly
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, TPN/lipids administration, and pediatric dosage calculations
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen delivery, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with neurologic conditions such as seizure disorders, hydrocephalus, and VP shunts
- Skilled in wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE use
- Experience with cardiovascular monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and PEWS/Rapid Response protocols
- One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive pediatric nursing care across medical, respiratory, neurologic, GI, and cardiovascular needs
- Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the last 6 months
- RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
