Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Cardiac Step-down unit requiring ACLS certification and cardiac telemetry experience on night shift.

Details

• Works in a 30-bed cardiac med-surg step-down unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Uses GE telemetry and Rover, portable WOWs, and Welch-Allen VS machine
• Documents in Meditech
• Manages titratable cardiac drips (Cardizem, heparin) and non-titratable drips (dopamine, dobutamine, amiodarone)
• Three full 12-hour shifts per week with 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• Floating required on rotation with other travel nurses

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and cardiac telemetry/EKG rhythm identification
• Med-surg experience required
• Familiarity with cardiac medications and drips required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Cardiac/telemetry knowledge and EKG rhythm identification skills required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac step-down unit with titrated and non-titrated cardiac drips
• Unit staffed with a charge nurse, unit secretary on dayshift, and 3 PCTs per shift
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
