Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring Trach/home ventilator and High Flow Nasal Cannula experience.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity
- Equipment used includes trachs, home ventilators, feeding pumps, central lines, chest tubes, syringe pumps, and High Flow Nasal Cannulas
- EMR system is Meditech
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend requirement
- Floating required to Children's Tower units including Pedi Surgical, ED holds, NICU, and Pedi Hem/Onc
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required
- Required skills: High Flow Nasal Cannula and Trach/home ventilator experience
- Central line care experience
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonates requiring specialized respiratory and vascular support
- Perform typical unit procedures including central line care and High Flow Nasal Cannula management
- Team includes charge nurses, RNs, and PCT/UC support staff with staffing adjusted based on census
- Navy blue scrub attire required
- Best fit candidates are flexible, positive, team-oriented, and strong communicators
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as no local candidates will be considered
