Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 12-week night shift assignment requiring ARRT registration and BLS certification.
Details
- Hospital-based CT department
- 12-week assignment, 40 hours per week
- Night shift schedule, Monday-Thursday 8:30 PM to 7:30 AM
- Uses Cerner EMR for charting
- May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on departmental needs
- Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program preferred
- Completion of an accredited Computed Tomography Program preferred
- One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- Registered in Radiologic Technology by ARRT; ARRT registration in CT preferred
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
- Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
- Must be able to perform frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients up to 50 lbs
- Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity and reaching with hands/arms required
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range required
Additional Information
- Perform CT scans following established protocols under medical supervision of radiologists
- Responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate techniques
- Instruct and prepare patients for procedures and assist with informed consent as needed
- Communicate with radiologists regarding procedures and ensure accurate order entry
- Assist in clinical education of student Radiologic Technologists
- Adhere to radiation safety practices in accordance with ALARA principles and DHEC/TJC guidelines
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation is common in this role
- Work may involve stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours
- Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
