Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cath Lab position requiring 2 years of complex cath lab experience and a valid CA RN license in hand at time of submission.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in the Cath Lab unit
- Diagnostic cardiac cath lab performing procedures such as left and right heart catheterization and IABP placement/removal
- Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts per contract
- On-call responsibilities required based on departmental needs with a 30-minute response time, averaging 10 call shifts within a 6-week period including one weekend
- No floating required between units
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS also required
- 2 years of cath lab experience preferred due to case complexity
- Experience with medications including antihypertensives and IV vasopressors preferred
- Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring and thrombolytics preferred
- Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
- Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias and ventilator management skills preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a diagnostic cardiac cath lab setting
- IR experience is a plus
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO must be submitted upfront at time of submission; limited flexibility for additional time off once contracted
- Scrub color for RNs is navy blue; Cath Lab scrubs are provided
- Facility does not accept Nursys or background check hits
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
