Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN for a beachside acute care hospital, requiring 2 years of complex cath lab experience and CA RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Perform cardiac cath lab procedures including IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization
- Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
- Uses Epic for charting
- 4 weekend shifts required per contract
- On-call required based on department needs with a 30-minute response time
- Call shifts average 10 within a 6-week cycle, including one weekend of call
- No floating required between like units, though floating to sister facilities may be expected
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS also required
- 2 years of cath lab experience preferred due to case complexity
- Experience with antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and thrombolytics preferred
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and ventilator management preferred
- Experience with Lasix drips preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from supervisory contacts such as Charge RNs or Leads
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a complex cardiac catheterization lab environment
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
- Facility may cancel shifts once per two-week pay period
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers only after a 3-month waiting period and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the health system
