Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital position requiring 2 years of acute medical Care Coordination/Discharge Planning experience and prior travel experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management/Utilization Review department
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:25 on day shift
  • No floating expected
  • Requires working approximately one full weekend every 4 weeks based on department need

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required (pending license accepted if licensed by start date)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute medical Care Manager experience performing Care Coordination and Discharge Planning
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered with proper screening
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with admission criteria, care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, and medical necessity determination per evidence-based guidelines
  • Knowledge of CMS, CPT coding, DRG, and HIPAA regulatory guidelines
  • Acute hospital experience in ICU, Med-Surg, or SDU/PCU/IMC/Obs settings

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care development
  • Business attire or scrubs acceptable dress code
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront prior to offer
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local for pay purposes
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system
  • First-time travelers will be considered with appropriate screening
