Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Endoscopy position requiring conscious sedation skills and comfort working with a prison population.
Details
- Endoscopy unit within a hospital setting servicing both public and prison populations
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Call required once a month
- Floating required to other outpatient clinics within the same building for basic outpatient admissions
- Typical patient ratio of 1:2
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- CPI certification required (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
- Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy nursing experience required
- Experience with conscious sedation administration, monitoring, and recovery
- Experience with GI procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, and bronchoscopy
- Skilled in circulating during procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and specimen handling/labeling
- Cerner charting experience required

- Must be comfortable providing care to a prison inmate population
- Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care and administering/monitoring conscious sedation
- Facility enforces a strict no-call-off policy
