Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a valid NY RN license and telemetry skills for a 13-week evening/night assignment.
Details
- Acute care Emergency Department with 25+ beds plus hallway beds
- NYS Designated Stroke Center serving patients of all ages
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:5
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- Charge nurse and nurse aides on staff, with charge role not assigned to travelers
- Hospitalist coverage and RT available 24/7, no dedicated IV team, pharmacy not available 24/7
- 12-hour shifts with 3p or 7p start times (3p-3a or 7p-7a)
- Every other weekend required, plus rotating holiday coverage
- No floating requirement, but unit-specific orientation provided
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license in good standing
- BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS also required per unit
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Telemetry skills required, including strip reading
- Experience with drips and ventilator management required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a diverse patient population in a high-acuity ED setting
- Any scrub color permitted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront for consideration
- Traveler cannot volunteer to give up or refuse a shift and still receive guaranteed hours
