Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 1 year of Level III+ NICU or PICU experience and RRT certification.
Details
- Work in a 40-bed Level IV NICU at an academic teaching hospital
- Level IV NICU provides highest level of neonatal intensive care with on-site neonatal surgery and 24/7 neonatology coverage for critically ill and extremely premature infants
- May float between neonatal and pediatrics units depending on facility need
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- Holiday rotation every other holiday
- No on-call requirement
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required if applicable
- RRT, BLS, and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Level III or higher NICU (or 1+ year PICU experience)
- Skills required include Bubble CPAP, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, extubation, and intubation assist
- PA fingerprints required, which may involve travel and processing time of up to several weeks
- Valid references and certification copies required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to critically ill and extremely premature infants in a high-acuity NICU setting
- Facility is the region's only Level IV NICU
- Part of a large academic health system serving patients across Pennsylvania and New Jersey
- Scrubs provided
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted within 50 miles of the facility at a reduced local rate
- All time-off requests must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission and block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- Planned time off must not interfere with completing required pre-start compliance before the scheduled start date
