Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a step-down telemetry unit, requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• 26-bed step-down unit with all private rooms transitioning patients from ICU
• Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1
• All patients on telemetry with continuous heart monitoring
• Manages patients on critical drips
• Patient population includes GI bleed, COVID, and respiratory distress cases
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 7a-7p
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• 36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the care team
• Comfort with computer systems and applications or ability to be trained

• Provides comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, and care coordination across all phases of the nursing process
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
• Delegates and oversees care team members' performance of patient care tasks
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
