Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

• 19-bed Labor and Delivery unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (19:00-7:00)
• 1:2-3 patient ratio
• Floating to Postpartum/Mother Baby required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Facility performs 100-200 births per month

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, STABLE
• Competent in Management of Second Stage and Vaginal Exams
• Must be comfortable transitioning newborns in labor and delivery
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump management
• Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal EFM and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Preferred experience in teaching hospitals and Trauma Level I or II settings

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and mother/baby units
• Administer medications including antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, pitocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scoring, cord sample collection, and neonatal resuscitation
• Support newborn care including cord care, discharge teaching, metabolic screening, and thermoregulation
• Assist with postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care, wound assessment, and breastfeeding support
• Manage pain through epidural anesthesia, opioids, and pain assessment protocols
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE appropriately
• First-time travelers accepted with required L&D experience
• Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for the travel rate, though all other local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year to be considered
