Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring 4+ years of recent acute care experience and telemetry proficiency.
Details
- Float pool position covering multiple Med/Surg and specialty units
- M7: Med/Surg unit with ortho, urology, neurology, and GYN patients (30 beds)
- 6W: Cardiology/telemetry unit (32 beds)
- 7E: Surgery unit (30 beds)
- CMS6: Cardio-thoracic unit (16 beds)
- Average patient ratio of 5:1
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
- Most Fridays required with no specific schedule requests accommodated
- Required to float and adapt quickly across different units
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- 4+ years of recent acute care experience required
- Stepdown experience needed for night shift
- Meditech experience required
- Telemetry experience required, including ability to independently read telemetry strips
- Must pass onsite telemetry exam on Day 1 with 84% or better (2 attempts allowed)
- Must have 1 recent successful travel contract
- Psych experience highly preferred
- Epic experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of previous float pool experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across multiple Med/Surg and specialty units as part of the float pool
- No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested
- No extended RTO permitted
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility accepted
- 50-mile radius rule applies for local vs. travel rate determination
