Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Trauma Level II Emergency Department requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 13-week assignment in a fast-paced, Trauma Level II Emergency Department that is also a Primary Stroke and STEMI Center
• 29-bed ED with 8 surge hallway beds, 1 dedicated Trauma Room, and 6 Vertical Care (fast-track) rooms
• Supports a 4:1 RN ratio in the main ED and 3:1 RN ratio in the Vertical Care area
• Serves a Pediatric Readiness Facility population
• Night shift schedule from 6:45PM-7:15AM
• Rotating weekends and holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (AHA required)
• NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and Ascension CPI certifications preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Work alongside a large ED team of over 120 associates supporting a high-volume trauma and stroke center
• Providers staff multiple shifts with overlapping MD and APP coverage throughout the day and night
• Scrub requirement: navy blue top and bottom, with Ascension-branded shirt worn on payday Fridays
• Coverage required for 2 major holidays
• On-site cafeteria available with extended weekday and weekend hours
• Local candidates accepted, though pay rate may be reduced based on facility radius rules
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
