Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring ARRT (R) certification and CT experience across trauma and emergency settings.

Details

• Radiology-CT department performing diagnostic CT examinations for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and trauma patients
• Overnight shift from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week assignment
• Perform routine and contrast-enhanced CT examinations including CT angiography (CTA)
• Perform trauma and emergency CT examinations
• Utilize PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record systems
• Perform post-processing, multiplanar reconstructions, and other advanced imaging techniques

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Current ARRT (R) certification and registration required
• ARRT (CT) certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• License required if applicable
• Experience with IV contrast administration and recognition of contrast reactions
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety and dose-reduction (ALARA) practices
• Ability to work independently and prioritize examinations based on patient acuity
• Strong communication, critical-thinking, organization, and time-management skills

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, physician orders, clinical history, allergies, and screening requirements before exams
• Establish or assess IV access and administer IV contrast per facility protocol and scope of practice
• Monitor patients for contrast reactions and respond appropriately to adverse events
• Recognize imaging artifacts and adjust technical parameters to improve image quality
• Review completed studies for technical quality before releasing for physician interpretation
• Communicate with radiologists, nurses, ED staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain CT equipment and report equipment or safety concerns as needed
• Follow infection-prevention, patient-identification, radiation-safety, and contrast-administration standards
• Preferred experience includes recent acute-care hospital CT, ED/trauma CT, CTA, stroke/trauma protocols, portable/procedural CT, and advanced 3D reconstruction
• Accepts local candidates, though a radius rule may apply to determine pay rate eligibility
