Description

American Traveler is hiring a Weekend Only CT Technologist with 1+ years of experience for a 13-week assignment supporting inpatient, outpatient, and emergency CT imaging.

Details

• Weekend-only schedule with 12.5-hour shifts from 06:45-19:15
• 13-week assignment
• Perform CT imaging for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and trauma patients across varying acuity levels
• Perform routine and contrast-enhanced CT examinations including CT angiography (CTA)
• Utilize PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record systems for documentation

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Current ARRT (R) certification and registration required
• ARRT (CT) certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• License required if applicable
• Experience with IV contrast administration and recognition of contrast reactions
• Knowledge of radiation safety and dose-reduction practices including ALARA principles
• Strong communication, critical-thinking, organization, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize examinations based on patient acuity

Additional Information

• Verify patient identity, physician orders, clinical history, allergies, and screening requirements before examinations
• Establish or assess IV access and administer IV contrast per facility protocols and scope of practice
• Monitor patients for contrast reactions and respond appropriately to adverse events
• Recognize imaging artifacts and make technical adjustments to improve image quality
• Perform post-processing, multiplanar reconstructions, and other advanced imaging techniques as required
• Review completed studies for technical quality before releasing images for physician interpretation
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, nurses, emergency department staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain CT equipment and report equipment or safety concerns appropriately
• Assist with maintaining efficient patient throughput in a fast-paced imaging department
• Accepts local candidates, though a radius rule may apply and could affect pay rate
